Had lunch at Victoria with 2 colleagues. The waiter was attentive and friendly but there was only one other table occupied.
We were disappointed with the food.
The squid in the starter was not existent. It was crispy but where was the chilli flavour.
The lamb was dry and the lentil side was flavourless. Perhaps the chef who happened to be in at the time. Who knows. Won't be rushing back.

Went for christmas party to Restaurant Victoria on friday, 27 staff members, table was booked for 2.30pm and we got seated at 3.40pm ! Finally got main course at 5.15pm, service was diabolical. Staff were very rude , definitely would not be back !

When I read "Unhappy's" comments I thought we must have been at a different restaurant. Our visit today was a total joy. The food was excellent, the waitress knowledgeable, service excellent. we will certainly be back. The young man who greeted us was polite, friendly and efficient. Before leaving he showed us the upstairs restaurant and we were very impressed. Altogether a great experience, all
communications in a good Ulster accent.

Went here with my sister for a birthday meal pre-theatre. Had extremely poor and rude service from the woman in charge of front of house. The tardiness of serving pre-theatre (when the restaurant was at less than 50% capacity) meant we had to leave before finishing our meal. No discount was offered for this. Have complained directly to the restuaurant who sent an email with the usual platitudes and said they get back to me after looking into it - that was 3 weeks ago and not a word since.
Highly recommend Coco on Linenhall Street as a superior alternative. Olios on Brunswick Street also offer a decent pre-theatre and the staff all have manners.

The food is of substandard quality. Salty. They add extra fat when not needed e.g. croque monsieur cooked with mayo instead of bechamel sauce. The selection of food is really poor and unappetising.
It is also difficult to understand the accent of the waiters/waitresses (all of them foreign with not very good English).
This restaurant used to be good when it was Bourbon. I will never go back!
So far, this is the worst restaurant I have been in Belfast.

Have just been for a "meal" lovely decor, lovely reception, staff very accommodating, just one slight problem! I would not serve the food I received to my dogs! Terrible food! Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs!

Arrived on Saturday at 1.50 - are table was booked for 2pm. Were seated immediately and our orders taken. Both ordered the Ceasar Salad to start and the Cottage Pie and Fish and Chips (wanted the liver but they had run out). 35 mins later still no starters and we counted 5 tables served after we had come in. The waitress finally came over to us to check what we had ordered and it was obvious that she had forgotten to put the order in. Finally the starters arrived and they would just put down in front of us with no explanation or apology and what a disappointment. Just lettuce with some sauce and a little bit of chicken which was very bland. Also disapointed with the mains, the Cottage Pie was nice but the Fish and Chips were a disagrace - I would discribe it as a large fish finger. Spoke to a couple sitting beside us who had ordered the same meals and they were also disppointed. I had been looking forward to going to Victoria's but will not be back or will not recommend to others.

Went for the pre-theatre menu yesterday evening and were a little disappointed overall. We went at 6pm on a Saturday and I guess it was a little busy but we had long waits between courses. Starters - chicken wings were fine; fish pie was tasty but the sauce was extremely runny, you'd need a spoon, the seafood was fresh though but could have done with a little more mash to counter the sauce. Mains - the seafood rissotto was pathetic, barely a starter-sized portion, outrageous to be honest, I mean we're talking RICE here. Unreal. The chicken hotpot wasn't anything like a "hotpot" - it was breast of chicken chunks with no real sauce at all. Poor description of the dish, and a disappointing dish. The burger was ok, nothing special. Desserts - toffee

Possibly the worst meal I have ever eaten. Went for the pre-theatre menu; starter of goats cheese, pasta in a creamy sauce - what i got was over-cooked pasta, a sprinkling of very strong verging on rank goats cheese and a creamy sauce that resembled a consume soup. The main course of cod goujons was dry and unpalatable and I would suggest was actually cheap frozen produce. The service was however excellent, that is up until i remarked on the cod from when on I was simply ignored. Several people in our party also remarked on the cod and again their comments were ignored.

Went there with friends on 8th Sept. Very disappointing - food was below average and clearly overpriced which is strange since the owner's other restaurant in Warrenpoint Co. Down called "23" is far superior. I suppose it comes down to the local chef.

Restaurant Victoria, WOW! What a fantastic place Belfast has to offer. Fresh great honest food. Service is outstanding professional. Our waitress Sinead very knowledgable of food and wine and made us feel so comfortable all night.
I have recommended restaurant victoria to all my friends and family, and can certainly not wait to go back

Very disappointed!! The only thing Restaurant Victoria has going for it is the impeccable service. Food is bland and incredibly overpriced!!! You will be presented with two menus to order from plus a 'specials' board - this should tell you that not everything is cooked fresh and from scratch! Won't be back!

Went on sunday. Disappointed at only having sunday menu as had heard good things and wanted to see what they had to offer. 3 courses for £20, not bad. I had the rigatoni pasta with goats cheese to start and it was fantastic. Big portion too, i was full after it. My husband had the mackerel salad and enjoyed it. We both ordered the chicken with whipped potatoes, came with champ and veg. My husband loved it but i thought it was all a bit creamy and sloppy. The chicken and stuffing were both very tender and mushy so think a crispy potato would have added some texture. the whipped potatoes were almost like a thick sauce. However would have been delicious if the chicken was crispy, something to add texture to the dish. Dessert was carrot cake for me (delicious) and the apple and pear crumble for my husband. He enjoyed it but wasnt a fan of the salted caramel ice cream. Overall i enjoyed the starter and dessert. we both had same main, he loved it, i wasnt that impressed. Would probably go back if i could get the full menu with more options but would recommend my starter. Really nice. Wish it had been a main!

Have just been for another fab meal at restaurant Victoria, the third time in the same amount of weeks. Great atmosphere for a Tuesday night (place was buzzin) I am so glad there is somewhere in Belfast that not only offers great food and great service, but also offers great value for money. I often leave restaurants feeling that ive been ripped off, not here, wine list is limited but good value, maybe a more extensive list would be my only comment! keep up the good work!

Classic Victoria Sunday is Class!
This is just what you need after a weekend fuelled with alcohol. I really wanted to try the potted pawn and salmon cocktail but opted for the lobster linguine from the specials menu. It was fab, a great portion size, really tasty and very generous with the lobster. My friends had the scallops which were also amazing. Main course was a dirty big steak which was perfectly cooked to my liking. We ordered the lemon cheesecake, pannacotta and apple and pear crumble for dessert. Simple food, quality ingredients and great value for money (3 courses for £20) = recipe for success! The staff are polite, friendly and really well turned out. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend that you give it a go.

Always had enjoyed meals in Bourbon and liked the relaxed atmosphere. found Restaurant Victoria more geared to fine dining,I really dont need a waiter to put a napkin on my knee!!!!Pre theatre menu choice a bit limited I chose the steakburger unfortunately the ciabatta type "bap" made it very difficult to manage and was rock hard. complained to waitress who said it had been over exposed under the heatlamp. I also mentioned it again whilst paying in the hope I would get even a small reduction or a complimentary sweet NOT a chance!! This did include fries unlike the chicken option so my friend had to order a side order of fries which bumps the 2 course option to £18. On a more positive note the desserts were delicious!! Wont be rushing back.

Went last night, didn't go for pre theatre as counting calories at mo and all choices on that quite high so had the hake. Said on menu it was £16.50 - pricey enough but sounded nice. Very disappointed when it arrived as was an extremely small portion plus the tomato salad although tasty was more that salsa than salad. We shared some yummy veg and laughed that 'well we wouldn't be putting on any weight with our choice' as both still hungry after meal.
Bill arrived and stated hake was £17 - hmmm we thought but didn't want to make a fuss so just let it go. They had added on a 10% service charge So bill with this added on was £40.70 - I said (as i'm a waitress) just leave £40 as service optional and hell we're still hungry and it's more than it said on menu. Left the money and headed out the door only to be grabbed by the waitress who demanded the 70p!! I said the service is optional

I visited Restaurant Victoria for the first time last week with my partner and a couple of friends. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food delicious. Only one starter - the potted salmon and prawns which was demolished by my partner who proclaimed it excellent! Main courses included the hereford steak burger, cod gougons and the chicken pot pie. I opted for the scallops in a boursin sauce which melted in my mouth - absolutley all plates were cleared! A couple of bottles of superb Fleurie were followed by disgestifs. I will be back.....indeed have already made 3 reservations

Restaurant Victoria is a restaurant and bar which opened July 2011. It is run by award winning chef, Raymond McArdle. It was formally known as the Bourbon on Great Victoria Street. The website isn’t up yet and I’ve not seen them on Facebook so far.
I had dinner there one Friday evening and was in time to choose from the good value set menu (2-courses £15 and 3-courses £20). There is a Prestige menu at £50 but that was too rich for my blood!
For starters I had potted salmon with prawns (fancy prawn cocktail) with salad and Guinness wheaten bread. It was delicious especially the sauce...normally the sauce is insipid or plasticy this was tangy, rich but not clawing. The dressing on the salad had a lovely fresh citrus flavour whilst the wheaten bread had a good Guinness flavour but not over-powering. A companion had rigatoni pasta with goat's cheese and rocket which was a main meal on its own. The third of our party also had the prawn/salmon starter and like me cleared her plate!
Our main courses were beautifully presented. I had chosen a steak burger which was cooked to medium served with salad, gherkins a delicious relish on a foccacia bap. I asked for the fries to be changed to champ which was not a problem. In hindsight I should have asked for veg simply because the bread was enough for the carb section. You can't eat a burger elegantly and I didn't try to...it was juicy and delicious.
One companion had the cod gougons. The batter was light and crisp with the cod juicy, nicely cooked. My final companion had chicken and mushroom served in a puff pastry case. Again she was delighted with her dinner. There were fries served too which went down well.
We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio too but no dessert. There was no-where to put it! The only slight negative was the lack of a peppermint or green tea option but I'm sure its only a matter of time before someone runs out and buys a couple of boxes!
I would recommend Restaurant Victoria based on this visit. The serving team were attentive but not invasive. It was the 12th week so things were quite. I will be making a return visit.

On a recent trip to Belfast I visited the Restaurant Victoria, formally known as the Bourbon on Great Victoria Street.
I have to say it was a really pleasant atmosphere with attentive staff and extremely well cooked fresh food.
They have an early evening menu with 2 courses for £15 and 3 for £20 Monday-Thursday from 5pm-7pm is excellent. So good that I returned a couple of days later.
I strongly recommend checking this wonderful place out for yourself if you are in the city.
